If you wish to discover a new side of Morocco and run away from Marrakech for a few days, join us on our 5 days 4 nights desert trip to Merzouga.
We will pick you up in Marrakech at 7 am and hit the road towards the High Atlas Mountains. After a few hours drive, we will take a break at the Tadart Village where we’ll have a hearty Moroccan breakfast and continue our journey by driving to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage), where we’ll visit the “Ksar Ait Benhaddou” (or Ait Benhaddou Castle).
This Kasbah has been the shooting studio of many famous movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Sodom and Gomorrah, Gladiator, Alexander, and many more Hollywood big productions. After that, we will set off to the “Moroccan Hollywood”, Ouarzazate, where we’ll have lunch. After that, we’ll get back on the road again, and the night will find us at our hostel in the small town of Tinghir.
After having breakfast in our hotel, we will take the road to the Todgha Gorges where we’ll enjoy some beautiful landscapes. Then we will ride to the Tinjdad Village where we’ll have a good lunch. After that, we’ll drive through Arfoud and Rissani to reach our hotel in Merzouga in the afternoon.
There, we can relax around the swimming pool while enjoying some sweet Moroccan mint-tea. Later in the afternoon, we’ll ride camels to our camp in the heart of the desert. There, we’ll enjoy a cup of tea with the nomads and watch the sunset over the dunes. Later in the evening, we will have dinner accompanied by traditional music around a campfire.
Waking up early, we’ll watch the sun rising over the desert. After that, we’ll ride our camels back to our hotel in Merzouga, where we’ll have breakfast, shower, and relax a bit. Then, we’ll drive towards the small town of Errachidia and stop for some pictures on our way there. Next, we’ll drive to Midelt where we’ll have lunch.
After lunch, we’ll hit the road again towards Ifrane, passing by small towns such as Azrou and Timahdit. After a 20 minutes break, we’ll arrive at our hotel in Fez, where we will be spending the night.
At 8 am, after breakfast, we will leave Fez for Meknes where we’ll visit the Old Town. Later, we will go to the small town of El Hajeb, where we’ll have lunch, and then, drive towards Beni Mellal. During our ride, we will go through beautiful tiny towns such as Mrirt, Khenifra, Kasbah Tadla, and many more. Our last night will be spent in a hotel in Beni Mellal.
At 9 am, we’ll have breakfast in our hotel and drop by the Ain Aserdoun for the last stop before going back directly to Marrakech.
